The wool that I used was wool...I used hand carders. The wool that I used was wool and mohair combo. I carded about 2 ounces. I just pulled of bits of the wool and spread it out on one of the cards then carded it to make a rolag. I carded it over and over until the wool was smooth...several times. Then I pulled it off the cards and made the rolag. There is a really good video I just posted that taught me exactly how to do it.
