Score!

You can only imagine my reaction when I came across this most wonderful vintage beverage cart! The best find in some time for me folks. I am super excited! It fits perfectly in my kitchen and goes along with my retro decor. Perfection.

The added bonus to this cart is.....

Electricity! It has an outlet! I havent tested it out just yet but when I do I hope it works!

Cheers!

Out With The Old...In With The New

Thank you old reliable microwave table. You have served my family very well for so many years....about 25 to be exact (well give or take a few). They just don't make them quite like you anymore. I am sure you must be wondering why it is time for you to go if they don't make them like you anymore. But, the time has come. I know, it is hard to hear. But, frankly, you are starting to chip here and there and the particle board you are made of is finally starting to break down. It's okay though. We all must retire at some point in life. But, I want you to leave knowing you are loved. I remember you arriving to my childhood home stationed right next to the refrigerator. I have very vivid memories of warming up hot dogs in the microwave that lived on you. I was honored when my mother handed you down to me when I purchased my home 7 years ago. You, faithful microwave table, have been more reliable than any other piece of furniture I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Enjoy your retirement. You deserve it. But, what you don't deserve is this miserable picture I have of you since I did not get a good shot after I finished painting my kitchen. I am very sorry about that. Please forgive me.

Hello new chrome wire shelf. I know you will not last nearly as long as your senior. But, you sure look pretty.

Cheers!

Kitchen Re-Do

I knew that painting my kitchen was going to be a beast of a project but I really had NO idea how much of a beast it really would be. I borderline went on melt down mode but a nice conversation with my sister picked me back up.

My house was built in the 50's and my kitchen has all the original 50's decor. I love turquoise and red together, especially in a kitchen and that is what I did! I can't believe it took me so long to re-do my kitchen! Long time coming and I am very happy. It reminds me of an old school soda shoppe.

Here is the before, I apologize for the dark pictures, I took them at night.

So, that is the before of my dreary kitchen.

Here is the after...

I am going to paint the cabinet that the mixer is on white. Just haven't quite gotten around to that yet.

Cedella like to get in all my pictures.

I made new kitchen curtains to go along with the theme. I used red seersucker fabric, turquoise rick rack, and red pom poms.

I spray painted the kitchen chairs white and recovered them with red and white checkered oil cloth.

Still my most favorite find for this kitchen is the vintage bottle opener.

I used all Behr paint from Home Depot. The wall color is Spa and for the cabinets and baseboards I used Ultra Pure White. I still have some work do and will post when I get it accomplished. But, for now, I am happy with it. Now, on to my craft room!

Cheers!
