Veggie Night

So, my sister, BIL, and niece have been in town for the past several days. We have just been kickin' it. It is always so nice to have them come visit! I wish there really were floo powder that way I could just poof to her house and she could poof to mine when we felt like it! Well, anyhoo, my sis made dinner tonight. It was a Vegan night! She made veggie hummus wraps with a side of stuffed grape leaves and fruit. I felt like I had my very own Spiral Diner in my kitchen! My sister and BIL are really amazing when it comes to cooking. They have recipes in their heads and never break out with a cook book like I do. They can just whip up something special with a blink of an eye. Yum.

Friends, Fun, And More Fondue!

Well, yesterday evening I was finally able to test out the vintage fondue pot I found months ago at an estate sale. Jeff and I got together with our longtime friends for a fondue night. After spending my birthday at Simply Fondue, we decided that fondue is tons of fun and something that we needed to do ourselves! So we had a sharp cheddar cheese fondue and a blue cheese fondue. Both were fantastic! We had chicken, apples, bell peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, summer sausage, and bread for dipping. Oh, it was yummy. My little fondue pot worked like a champ!

For dessert we had chocolate fondue with homemade marshmallows and coconut macaroons from Central Market and also butter cream cake, pretzels, and graham crackers. The marshmallows and macaroons were so fluffy. I love Central Market.

Jeff and I brought along a bit of Sangria too. Sangria is perfect for this time of year (well, I guess it is perfect really for anytime of year!) Oh, my, we were stuffed by the end of the night but it was worth it! I should have taken more pictures but I was too busy eating!

Good food, good friends, and good fun. Just how a Saturday night should be spent.

Fall Is Here

I love October, and so does Cedella, my little Halloween kitty. The weather is cooler (oh and have I mentioned that the weather is cooler?), Halloween is lurking around the corner, comfort foods are waiting to be made, and pumpkins, there are lots and lots of pumpkins! I have been in a crafting lull, mostly because when it is hot, I can't do ANYTHING! I am not meant for the hot weather, I am just worthless. I think life would be good if I moved to Santa Fe. How could you ever be in a lull. Oh Santa Fe and the perfect temperatures all year long! Hopefully my parents will move there in the next few years and then that will give me an excuse to either visit, at least weekly, or pack up and move! First, I have to convince Jeff that Santa Fe is the most magical place ever. I don't think it will take too much to convince him. I just have to get him there for a visit and then he will be sold to the idea!

I have posted my first Halloween item on my Etsy site. It is a little trick or treat tote bag. If this one sells, I have enough fabric to make a few more. I may make a different style of trick or treat bag and post that one too, we will see.

Well, now I am off to peruse the Martha Stewart website for Halloween decorating ideas. You can head over there everyday for the Halloween decorating idea of the day. I have started decorating a bit but there is also a bit more to do. I think I am due for a trip to Garden Ridge! Oh, also I have been practicing my spinning. I think I am almost ready to add a skein to my Etsy site. So stay tuned!
