So, I am getting married, but yep, you already know that. I have less than 3 months left to go! Fortunately, my very sweet mother has been my wedding planner and all the major stuff has been handled. But now comes time to get the decorations down, make the music list, figure out the ceremony, get the rings, the guys suits and much more! But, this is the fun part I think.
Jeff and I went to guy suit rental place #2 today to look at suits for the guys. A few weeks ago I had an almost mini meltdown at guy suit rental place #1. See, we don't want tuxes, just a simple suit. Guy suit rental place #1 only rents tuxes and they were all not anything close to what I had in mind! Ugly, all of them! So, yes, it was a little stressful but honestly the first I have been stressed so far which is great! I told the uninterested and not so helpful girl that was waiting on us at guy suit rental place #1 that we had to go. She wanted us to at least book and come back later to finish selecting the suits but, we got the heck out of there and went to go have a few cocktails! Needless to say I was very discouraged and thought we were going to have to change everything about what the guys were going to wear. But, never fear, guy suit rental place #2 is to the rescue! We walked in, the nice lady helped us--no pressure and no strings. We told her what we wanted and she pointed us right to it. The best part is for what it would have cost to rent a tux at guy suit rental place #1, they can buy a pretty nice suit to keep at at guys suit rental place #2! We were only in there for 10 minutes and that made Jeff very happy.
After our little outing, I went to Jo-Ann's for veil making supplies. Who knew how difficult it would be to cut flowers out of tulle? So, to a Jersey Shore marathon I went to town. I can't believe I just admitted that I watched a Jersey Shore marathon. Well, whatever. Anyhoo, I found a tutorial on this blog to give me some idea about how to make a birdcage veil. I am going to put a rhinestone button in the center of the flower, I just need to find one. This is my birdcage veil project, I sure can make a mess pretty easily.
I am making a flower fascinator for the veil made out of tulle, organza, and guinea feathers. I love these guinea feathers!
This is part of my secret project I have also been working on.
I cant say what it is but I can say it is the most fabulous roving that I have ever spun! It is called "Petunias" and it is 55% Merino, 25% Soy Silk, and 20% Tussah Silk. I picked it up at Miriam's Well last year in Santa Fe.When she travels she picks up roving to sell in her store. This lovely roving originated at Lambspun. This roving was soooooooooooo easy to spin, no pre-drafting required! I spun in glass beads as well. A little technique I picked up over here. Oh and my very talented brother-in-law made those knitting needles.
In the midst of my wedding planning and crafting I had a crave that needed fixing, chocolate. So, I made brownies! Ah...heaven.
Cheers!

Thanks for your kind comment on my blog. I've just learned to knit, so this whole bit of spinning your own yarn even is fascinating to me. And I love that you even put beads into it. Gorgeous!
Spinning is so much easier than you would think. It is amazing that just a twist of the fiber can fuse them all together! Thanks for stopping by!
